United in Legal Expertise, Dedicated to Your Family’s Future
Malenda Harris Meacham,
Attorney at Law
Malenda Meacham hails from Tupelo, Mississippi, the same town that gave us Elvis—though her moves were more about legal finesse than hip swivels. A graduate of Mississippi State University with a B.A. in psychology, Malenda went on to earn her law degree from the University of Mississippi. She moved to Hernando in 1994 and has practiced law in the area for over 30 years.
Her career has spanned a wide range of roles, from public defender in various courts to serving as Hernando’s first female city judge, where she innovated a community service project allowing people to pay off fines by working for the city. Malenda also served as Special Master in the Chancery Court of DeSoto County for 19 years, overseeing child support, paternity cases, mental health commitments, and more.
Having grown up with a single mother who never received court-ordered child support, Malenda’s early experiences gave her a deep sense of empathy and compassion for those facing hardship. This background has fueled her passion for family law and her commitment to serving her clients with fairness and understanding. Married for over 30 years to Rob Meacham and mother to two grown children, Malenda’s personal and professional life reflects her dedication to family and community.

Anne Jackson,
Attorney at Law
Anne Jackson holds a bachelor’s degree in biology with an emphasis on education and a minor in history. Anne taught high school biology, chemistry and recombinant DNA for five years and obtained her master’s in educational administration by attending night school during that period. While helping a close family member navigate a very difficult and expensive divorce, Anne was encouraged by other attorneys involved therein to pursue a career as a lawyer. On a whim, Anne took the Law School admission test and gained admission to the University of Mississippi School of Law and obtained a Juris Doctor (JD) within two years. After passing both the Mississippi and Tennessee Bars and practicing a few short months, Anne began to concentrate in the areas of divorce and family law wherein she excelled.
After practicing family law for 24 years in the DeSoto County area, Anne decided again to change careers a third time and obtained a nursing degree from Northwest Mississippi Community College while raising her only son. Eventually, Anne took time off to care for her young child and aging family members. Anne recently rejoined her previous law partner, Malenda Meacham, and after an eight year break, is currently sharing an office with Malenda and enjoying her 25th year of experience as a family law attorney.
Not only is Anne an accomplished attorney, but she is also a wonderful mom to her remarkable high school age son and enjoys singing in the choir at Hernando Baptist Church as well as playing the piano, gardening and traveling as pleasurable diversions from the sometimes exacting practice of law.
Meet The Team
Rose Logan,
Paralegal and Office Manager
Rose has been friends with Malenda for more than 50 years. Their mothers were great friends and worked together at South Central Bell, and a strong friendship developed between Rose and Malenda from the time they were very young children. How she has put up with Malenda that long is anyone’s best guess! Rose is considered the “brains of the office” and keeps everything running as smoothly as possible. She is a paralegal and office manager for Meacham Law and has worked at the firm for more than 27 years. She has one of the kindest hearts you could ever know and always listens patiently to clients and assures them.
Hannah Meacham
Legal Assistant
Malenda’s daughter, Hannah, has stepped in to help the entire office run more efficiently and try to teach the older people here the merits of Clio and Excel. She is everyone’s favorite person in the office and very much an asset to the practice. We are grateful and appreciative for her cheerful patience and kindness. She greets everyone that she sees in the office with the prettiest smile. Hannah also operates her own private consulting business when she isn’t helping at her mom’s office. Needless to say, her mom could not possibly be more proud of her.
